Instructional Design

After the Needs Assessment process has been completed, we begin the project's Instructional Design phase.

The end result of this phase is a "Course Blueprint" that thoroughly defines all aspects of the training. Some of the items described in this document include:

  • Course Objectives: for each course, we work with you to spell out the expected level of knowledge each learner will achieve
  • Gap Analysis: we work with your company's subject matter experts to define your employees' existing skill set, then determine the gaps between current skills and desired achievement levels
  • Modules and Sequencing: our staff will group training goals into logical modules and arrange them intuitively to maximize learning comprehension and retention
  • Activities and Practices: each module will be further defined to include specific interactive elements and simulations

When completed, the Course Blueprint provides direction for subsequent phases of the project. Before individual modules are created, however, the project's Courseware is developed.
